The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) in collaboration with GNTDA GAR, has held a three-day Business Registration Clinic for the members of the Association to enhance compliance and improve access to business registration services.
The clinic, which ran from Wednesday, 20th to Friday, 23rd August 2025, took place at the GNTDA Greater Accra Secretariat in Kokomlemle, Accra. It formed part of the ORC’s mandate to undertake public education and bring registration services closer to the informal sector.
The initiative, which brought together tailors and dressmakers from across the Region, focused on educating members on the processes of business registration, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the importance of formalizing their operations. Members also had the opportunity to renew and register their businesses on the spot.

Officials of the ORC emphasized that proper business registration is a key step in ensuring business credibility, access to credit, and participation in government initiatives. They noted that the clinics form part of wider efforts to bring registration services closer to business owners, particularly in the informal sector.
The collaboration with the GNTDA, Greater Accra is expected to enhance awareness within the fashion and garment industry, one of Ghana’s largest informal sectors, and ensure more entrepreneurs comply with the law.
The initiative is one of several outreach programmes being undertaken by the ORC to support trade and professional associations across Ghana, ensuring that more entrepreneurs comply with the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and related regulations.
